Aug 28, 2013 - Nothing destroys the beautiful aesthetic of a clean document like a plethora of bright blue hyperlinks peppered throughout the text.
Email recvd in local client contains cold hyperlink. All links properly formatted when viewed through Outlook web access. TO field is not null.
File Options Mail Message Format Remove Extra Line Breaks In Plain Text Messages = DONE File Options Mail Spelling and Autocorrect Ignore Internet and network paths with hyperlinks = DONE 'C: Program Files Microsoft Office Office14 Outlook.ex e' /cleanrules = DONE At one point, the affected messages were being directed to Junk Mail in Outlook. User created rule to move them to the Inbox. It appears that we have addressed every action required to enable hyperlinks in plain text email. One Hyperlink remains cold. The spam filter/anti-virus flags in the affected emails are hot.
If user forwards message to self, all links are hot. For a detailed progression of all step taken, please see.
Check that SP1 is installed. Theres a few known issues with Hyperlinks in 2010 that was resovled in the SP. If SP1 is already installed, I would start to look at possible Add-In Issues Eliminate Add-ins as the cause of the problem by closing outlook and going into Registry HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWAR E Microsof t Office O utlook Add ins Note all the Current Add-Ins and their load Behavior. Set all the load Behaviors to 0 Open Outlook and Test to see if issue still present If its not, Close Outlook, then go back to registry, Re-enable one of the add ins.
Re-Open Outlook and Test Continue this process until you find the Add-in Causing the issue. @earavind That is where I looked first. However, a single user experiences the affect. The problem is isolated to a single Outlook client. If the mail is forwarded, the hyperlink goes hot at the recipient, even if the recipient is the affected user (the sender) I am convinced the issue is caused by: The local Outlook client originally flagged the incoming email as Junk Mail (disabling hyperlinks). The user did not use the 'Not Junk' option. Instead, he created a message rule to move the mail to the Inbox.
Starting Outlook with the switch /cleanrules did not fix the problem.
I copy and paste a lot of email addresses and have notes whose content is largely email addresses. They are maintained as plain text so that I can copy them to other places (without the blue formatting) but - most important - so that l can click on the note to make it active without triggering an new email.

I used to be able to put a semicolon after each address and it would not recognize it as such. I could then copy/paste the addresses around and they stay plaintext.
The new version broke this. Now, copying/pasting these triggers the hyperlink formatting.

I then have to laboriously select each one - making sure NOT to click, as that triggers an email - and being sure to include exactly all characters in the address, not missing any and not having extras, then remove the link that I never wanted in the first place. I would be happy with any of: 1) restoring the previous behavior 2) being able to select a region of text which includes links and non-links, then removing all links in the region 3) having a preference setting to disable automatic link creation.
